TV on the Radio -- Dear Science
8/10
TV on the Radio clearly set out to have some fun with their third full-length album, 2008's Dear Science. The band drop most of the fuzz and ennui from their previous release, Return to Cookie Mountain, and pick up a funkier, more dance-worthy sound. While it might be much airier and feel a little less substantial than its predecessor, Dear Science is a whole lot of fun, with a great mix of upbeat tracks, and slow-dance-worthy ballads. And, it must be said, this band is still super weird, playing their unique fashion of art-rock in a way no one has before or since. Dear Science is a great change of pace for their catalogue, and a great, triumphant conclusion to their opening trilogy of albums.
