Zombi -- Spirit Animal

Where did I get this album? Zombi's Spirit Animal has appeared in every digital collection of music I've had since late 2009, but I couldn't tell you through which service I bought it, when, or why. I can tell you, Spirit Animal is a very fun album. Zombi is an instrumental band, with a drummer and a bassist/keyboardist. Spirit Animal features a little bit of guitar too, but the dominant instruments here are the driving drums and 70's-esque synth washes. This band is classified on Wikipedia as synth rock, but there are definite elements of prog rock here too--the shortest song is seven minutes, and three out of five are between 10 and 20. That means Spirit Animal is a bit of an investment on the listener's part. Overall, this isn't particularly deep music, but it is a lot of fun over the course of its hour runtime.
