FIlmshake's Losing Its Head Over The 13th Warrior
Behold: Cow Urine Girl. Just listen to the episode, it'll make sense. |
Filmshake's excellent patron, Chaz, requested that Jordan Courtney and I cover 1999's Michael Crichton adaptation, The 13th Warrior. This flick was one of the biggest flops of the 90's, but after coming back to it now, I'd fight an army of bear head-wearing Neanderthals to get a movie HALF this fun in 2021. The 13th Warrior has got everything: beheadings. More beheadings. Additional beheadings! It also features an incredibly enjoyable performance by Antonio Banderas and his crew of Scandinavian misfits. We also explore the connections between this, Beowulf, and The Lord of the Rings, plus do all of the usual tomfoolery our listeners have become accustomed to, just even more tomfoolerishly than we've ever done before. We even talk 2003's Timeline for a minute! Are your ears too weak? Grow stronger, with Filmshake!
