Filmshake Is Saving Private Ryan
On Filmshake, the 90s Movies Podcast, we may have covered movies like Congo, Anaconda, and even Baby Geniuses, but that doesn't mean we can't handle a prestige flick every now and again, particularly when that prestige flick is one of my favorite movies of all time, 1998's Saving Private Ryan. Sure, we toss around a few jokes, and we most definitely have as much fun as we ever do, but we also get into a deep Kantian dialogue about the worth of the life of one man versus the lives of many men (and yes, I do get into some nihilism, as always), as well as marvel at Steven Speilberg's unfathomably perfect technical skills. It's everything you could want from a Filmshake Saving Private Ryan episode, and maybe even a little bit more (we do a have a punishment movie to talk about, after all).
