Good Morning, It's the Last Filmshake Spoiler Show
This morning marks the release of Filmshake's final spoiler show...as from here on out, they're all going to be spoiler shows (so they'll just be...shows)! As we change format to 90's films, we're just going to throw the kitchen sink into each episode. Episodes will be around an hour-long now, and we'll just blab the whole plot of the movie we're discussing like a bunch of gossiping ninnies. We'll still be doing all the stuff you (hopefully) love, like our end-of-show trivia battle, which subsequently results in the Fallen Warrior segment, the opening part of the show where last show's trivia loser reports on the movie they were forced to watch by the winner.
Here, though is our final offering from our original format, the spoiler show for Ozu's Good Morning. I'm going to affectionately dub this episode the "Shart Show," as for some reason, this master of classic Japanese cinema decided to make sharting a key element in Good Morning's plot. Farts are also integral, but we discussed them more in depth in the spoiler-free "Fart Episode."
Good Morning wasn't my favorite film we covered, but it was delightful, and it led to our most fun shows, and works as a great bridge to the light, much funnier shows we'll be doing for our 90's Filmshake...starting with Point Break next month! Until then, here's the "Shart Show!"
I loved covering these classic Japanese films, and I hope we made them accessible for those who wouldn't normally approach them. For those who didn't appreciate that "neophyte" approach, and who wish we'd come approaching these masters' films on our knees...I've got some pumice for you!
