Team Sleep ‎-- Woodstock Sessions, Vol. 4

7/10

A decade after their sole official full-length was released, Team Sleep return with a "live in the studio" album. Woodstock Sessions, Vol. 4 features a near 40-minute set from Team Sleep, as they perform songs from the self-titled full length, the leaked Unmastered Advance, as well a small handful of previously unavailable tracks. I loved the weirdness of the band's leaked album, but disliked the safeness of the official release. This live album splits the difference to solid results. These tracks are fairly chill, yet there are some harder rocking dynamics which are much appreciated. The instruments and electronics are all very well-recorded, and while the results aren't revelatory, they are a bit more exciting than the straight-laced self-titled record, and certainly a better bow on a project that now seems defunct.
